Half-Day Safe Working at Heights for Operatives
A person falling from height is the single
largest cause of workplace fatalities.
The Work at Height Regulations stipulate
that any person performing any activity that involves work at
height must be competent to do so. This half-day course is
intended for operatives whose work could involve exposure to a
fall from height, whether in construction, maintenance,
cleaning or access.
Your employees must be able to understand the
definition of work at height; and recognise the legal and
moral roles and responsibilities owed to themselves, their
families and work colleagues when they might be required to
working at height.
They should be able to recognise what are
considered to be suitable control measures to prevent falls
from height and understand the importance of safe access and
egress, safe places of work and the need for safe systems of
work
During this course your employees will
learn about the legal requirements placed on employers and
employee duties. We will address the need for and the
importance of Risk Assessments and the subsequent selection
and use of appropriate work equipment to include:
Collective and Individual Fall Protection
Systems, Types of scaffolds, Mobile Access Towers, MEWPS,
Ladders and Stepladders, When to use the use Fall Protection
Equipment and Protecting the Public when working at height.
